Great Barrier Reef Fishes - Tea towel
This tea towel is a celebration of the riot of pattern and colour found underwater along the Reef, based on the platters from the Great Barrier Reef exhibition at Maunsell Wickes Gallery in August 2024.
The design is inspired by one of the chromolithograph plates of fish included in William Saville Kent's The Great Barrier Reef of Australia; its Products and Potentialities, 1893.
The tea towel is made of a cotton/linen mix and was printed and manufactured in Australia. It measures 70cm x 50cm and comes in its own custom-made sturdy envelope, with the names of all the fish species depicted. From top to bottom they are Maōri Wrasse, Diagonal-banded Sweetlips, Pacific Rockcod, Striped Surgeonfish and Harlequin Tuskfish. If in every day use, it will fade with time.
By purchasing this item, we will donate $1 to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
