This large round platter depicts a Mosaic Leatherjacket (Eubalichthys mosaicus), a species endemic to the Great Southern Reef, the temperate waters in Australia’s south characterised by its interconnected seaweed forests.

The platter is handmade with Australian porcelain and hand painted with watercolour-like underglazes. As with all handmade objects, it may have some irregularities which contribute to its unique nature. It is fully functional and can we washed in the dishwasher, though I would recommend not putting in the microwave or oven as the abrupt changes in temperature might crack the clay.

The platter has a 37cm diameter and is 3cm high. Given its large size, picking up directly from the studio is highly recommended as shipping costs could be quite high depending on where you are located. This is a listing for the product in the picture.
