Rainbow Trout - Very Long Platter
Rainbow Trout - Very Long Platter
This very long platter depicts a Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Whilst this species is endemic to North America and Asia, it is found in the cold alpine waters of inland Australia and Tasmania where it was introduced in the 19th century.
The platter is handmade with Australian porcelain and hand painted with watercolour-like underglazes. As with all handmade objects, it may have some irregularities which contribute to its unique nature. It is fully functional and can we washed in the dishwasher, though I would recommend not putting in the microwave or oven as the abrupt changes in temperature might crack the clay.
The platter measures 54cm long, 25cm wide and about 2cm high. This is a listing for the product in the picture.
